IRVAC Gateway Project opening celebration

Broadway Phil & the Shouters will headline the Gateway to the Blues music festival June 10 at Siskiyou Field Institute. Danielle Kelly Soul Project Trio will be the opening act at 4:30 p.m.
The festival is the kick-off event for the summer-long Gateway Project featuring 30 artist-decorated wooden gates. The gates will be on display during the four-hour concert, and later, businesses and visitor centers stretching along Redwood Hwy from I-5 to Oregon Caves National Monument.
Festival goers are invited to bring their own seating and a picnic to the Saturday concert. Rogue Sushi will be on-site offering teriyaki chicken,pork and rice or mac and cheese, as well as salads, pastas and fruit cups. Wine, beer and desserts will also be available for purchase.
A silent auction of gift baskets and art will benefit Learning Through Arts in Illinois Valley public schools. Event host Illinois River Valley Arts Council (IRVAC) is a public benefit non-profit. Event sponsors include Evergreen Federal Bank, Foris Winery and Wild River Brewing & Pizza.
Gateway to the Blues gates open at 4 p.m. Siskiyou Field Institute is at 1241 Illinois River Rd., 1.3 miles west of Selma, OR post office. Admission is $15 per person and $25 per couple.
