**IVHLC is having a clean-up day Saturday April 29, 2023, starting at 9am. We need help to get the cemetery ready for Memorial Day weekend. If you have family and/or friends here at the Illinois Valley Historic Laurel Cemetery we need a little bit of your time in this endeavor to get the winter damage cleaned up. This does not get done on its own. As always everyone’s help is greatly appreciated. Bring rakes, gloves, shovels, any kind of yard implement you like to use and a lunch and/or snack. **The Illinois Valley Historic Laurel Cemetery May’s board meeting will be a week early because of Mother’s Day. Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 1 p.m. in the cemetery chapel.
**Illinois Valley Amateur Radio Club (IVARC) will be having our monthly meeting @ 6pm at Wild River Pizza in CJ. IVARC Board meets from 5-6pm. Every Monday at 7pm we have a weekly net check-in starting on IVARC’S GMRS repeater, followed by Simplex FRS 3 and MURS 3. Simplex allows unlicensed operators an opportunity to participate. New members are welcome and encouraged to join our net and attend our meetings. **We love Our Parks: Illinois Valley Parks Appreciation Day
Come to Illinois River Forks State Park from 10 -2 for a day of Illinois Valley Parks Appreciation. Area parks will have activities, giveaways and information to share. Visit with representatives from Oregon State Parks, Oregon Caves, City of Cave Junction, Friends of the Forks and more!
At 11, volunteer for trash pick-up and scotch broom abatement. Trash bags and plastic gloves will be provided. You may want to bring work gloves and a shovel for weed abatement.

**Memorial Day – Ol’ Timers Picnic Saturday May 27, 2023
Events for the day:
The gate will be opened at 8 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. the day of the picnic.
10 a.m. – Flag Burning/Disposal Ceremony with American Legion Post #70. Anyone wishing to retire an old, worn American flag is welcome to bring them.
11 a.m. – Civil War, Union & Confederate Surrender Ceremony.
