Mary Jane DiCola

Mary Jane DiCola, 90, returned to God’s embrace Nov. 9, 2022.
She was born Mary Jane Polotto Aug. 20, 1932 to Salvatore and Madeline Polotto in Chicago, Il.
She met her husband, Pete, at a high school dance and they were married Sept. 23, 1950 beginning their new journey together in life and to start a family. Mary Jane was known to most as a gentle soul with a heart of grace, a magnetic smile, and the ability of letting her troubles roll off her shoulders. Mary Jane was a loving mother the whole neighborhood enjoyed and was blessed with, a fantastic cook that fed everyone upon entering her house, and a warm and gracious host to many family gatherings and events.
Memories of her sayings will last forever with encouragement to deal with life on a more positive “today is the first day of the rest of your life” and “you get more bees with honey than vinegar”. She will always be remembered for her love of family and her strengths.
She is survived by her two children Judy (Craig) Hinkel and Peter (Jenny) DiCola; and granddaughters Naveah Grover and Danielle Grover.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pete V. DiCola; her daughters Pamela Grover and MaryLou-Terri DeMarco; and her grandson Jason Ratto.
