JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. — Visitors to Josephine County Parks and Campgrounds will see updated pricing beginning in 2026. Various camping fees and the affixed Annual Day Use Parking Pass increase will take effect January 1, 2026.
Park enthusiasts will have the opportunity to purchase their 2026 Affixed Annual Parking Pass at the 2025 rate of $30 and the Transferable Annual Parking Pass for $50 from November 28 through December 31, 2025, saving $5. Starting January 1, 2026, the affixed Annual Parking Pass will increase to $35, and the Transferable Parking Pass to $55. Additional increases will apply to select camping and yurt rental fees throughout County Campgrounds. Effective April 1, 2026, the single day use parking fee will increase to $10 per vehicle.
Josephine County Parks is a self-funded program that receives no support from local tax dollars. Every dollar collected is reinvested directly into park operations, maintenance, and improvements. Following the surge in outdoor recreation during 2020, park usage has since returned to pre-COVID levels. Rising costs and inflation have driven the need for these modest fee adjustments. To minimize impacts on park users, the Parks Program has already taken significant steps to reduce expenses. These include combining operations with the Josephine County Fairgrounds, reducing year-round and seasonal staffing, and implementing additional cost-saving measures.
“The decision to increase park fees was not taken lightly and is truly a last resort,” said Tamra Martin, Recreation Director. “We want our parks filled with campers, disc golfers, families, and visitors creating lasting memories. To maintain the high level of quality our community expects, we must adjust to increasing costs and industry trends”.
Josephine County Parks includes beloved destinations such as Tom Pearce Park, Fish Hatchery Park, Griffin Park, Indian Mary Park, and multiple boat ramp locations. The Parks team takes great pride in caring for these community assets and is committed to providing safe, beautiful, and enjoyable spaces for all.
