Tales from the Rural Patrol

June 1
*In the 4000 block of Rogue River Hwy. Brandon Woodward, 49, was cited for driving while suspended.
*Hannah Holland, 29, was ticketed for speeding at Redwood Hwy. and Redwood Avenue.
*Bradley Branden, 39, was warned for speeding and cited for DWS in the 6400 block of Williams Highway.
*Two juveniles were attempting to break up a fight between two adults in the 5100 block of Tunnel Loop Rd. and called 911. The male involved required stitches on his eyebrow, and Michellle Wilde, 34, was taken into custody on assault and domestic violence charges.

June 2
*David Jack Dewey, 70, was arrested at NE Beacon Dr. and Grants Pass Parkway on DWS charges.
*A dog owner in the 600 block of Glendon Rd. was issued a citation after the K9 was caught eating a neighbor’s chickens.
*A GP public worker was checking on an irrigation box in the 2600 block of NW Vine when he discovered a transient camp. A man came out being aggressive and threatening them and was found to have a GPPD warrant for FTA/theft. Jason Amundson, 44, was taken to the JoCo jailhouse.
*At the Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Zachary Sparks, 32, was warned for failure to obey a traffic control device and cited for DWS, but nobody died.
*In the 2000 block of Upper River Rd. Robert Douglas, 42, was warned for FTOTCD and cited for DWS.

June 3
*In the CJ Chevron parking lot, a woman ran away from police, but soon caught up with and detained. Katherine Denae Rodriguez, 28, was arrested at taser point on a previous warrant and eluding.

  • Oceanna Crane, 20, was popped for speeding at Redwood Hwy and Arbor Ridge Drive.
    *Gregory Metzer, 60, was arrested at the jailhouse for failure to comply on charges of menacing/domestic violence, a probation violation.
    *A female pulled a knife on a man, attempting to stab him multiple times, forcing him to run away from the property. She and two males then chased the man in separate vehicles and found him in a Weedbucks parking lot where the three began kicking and punching him. Kristen Xaros, 39, was arrested for assault/domestic violence even though the man declined to press charges. The arrest was mandatory as the two had been in a previous relationship and have a child together.
    *In the 900 block of Old Hwy. 99, a man was feeding his friend’s dog and wouldn’t provide his name to authorities. According to the trailer park manager, it was probably because he had warrants. Sure enough, he did, and Zacharey Costa, 42, was charged two counts of FTA for probation violation/robbery and unlawful possession of meth. The Bloodhound was cleared of any possible charges, like being a good boy!
    *Two dogs decided to run away to a nearby golf course near Espey Rd. where they were last seen between hole number 1 and hole number nine. Their owner, Monty W. Edwards, 53, was given a citation, and the pooches were given a mulligan.
    *Nicolas Bryant, 37, was taken into custody for resisting arrest and DWS at Caves Hwy. and S. Old Stage Road.

June 4
*A bite quarantine was placed on a dog named Ursa, and their owner was ticketed for having a potentially dangerous dog in the 8100 block of Monument Drive.
*In the 2100 block of Fish Hatchery Rd. a dog was trying to meet up with friends for a round of golf, but his owner was cited for K9 public nuisance. Officers noted that Alexander J. Reed, 39, was actively working on fencing.
*A black Lab got out in the 300 block of Minnow Ln. and his owner Michael D. Ogden, 64, was issued a citation.
*Brett Lee Lewis, 34, was arrested at the Grants Pass jail for FTA/traffic offense.
*Timothy Garcia, 35, was arrested at Redwood Ave. and Willow Ln. after running away from the cops on his motorcycle. HE was charged with felony elude, reckless driving, and possession of a controlled substance. Upon being booked into jail, authorities found another illegal substance on him.
*Carlos Jose Guadalupe Arredondo Rodriguez, 19, was cited for speeding and warned for having too many names.

June 6
*Police were handing out speeding tickets like Oprah today. At Redwood Hwy. and Elwood Ln., William Way, 37, received one as well, and also a citation for driving without a license.
*Justus Jones, 18, was going 90 in a 45 at New Hope Rd. and Humphrey Lane. You get a speeding ticket! Thanks, Oprah.
*On New Hope Rd., there is no hope for speed demons this week. Daniel Colisch, 19, was also cited for going above the posted speed limit.
*Thomas Fite, 53, lost the fight when he was cited for DWS at S. Junction Ave. and E. Watkins Street.
*Kylee Belew, 24, be-lew it when she was popped for a speeding ticket at New Hope and Alan Creek Road.
*At Monument Dr. and Lauer Way, David Astry, 46, got a speeding ticket. Look under your seat! Sorry,Sbad Oprah joke.
*A motorcyclist had to swerve out of the way of an oncoming car in his lane and had to lay his bike down at Merlin Rd. and Ort Lane. He was transported to Three Rivers Hospital after going unconscious after the crash, but thankfully had minor injuries. His partner, however, was arrested on a warrant for unlawful possession of meth. Dennise Vincent, 34, was booked into the local pokey.
*Theft and unlawful possession of firearms led to the arrest of two men, Andrew Martinez, 26, and Brandon Davis, 35, were both charged on failure to comply for burglary, theft and a felon in possession of a weapon in the 200 block of S. Caves Avenue.
*Jordan Liette, 37, was hiding in his vehicle in the 500 block of W. River St., probably because he had a bench warrant for criminal mischief. He did not win that round of hide and go seek.
*A not so sweet lady named Honey Walsh, 42, was found cutting a fence, breaking into a property, and stealing items in the 29900 block of Redwood Highway. She was charged with trespassing, theft, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle. They say you can attract more flies with honey than vinegar, but either way, you still get flies.
*At Riverbanks Rd. and Redwood Hwy., Noah Olson, 24, was going too fast and got a ticket.
*William Schumate, 37, was cited for DWS at N. Redwood Hwy. and E. River Street.
*Jonathon Nemoede, 43, was cited for DWS after multiple warnings at E. Hanby Ln. and Redwood Highway.
