That’s a truck load of tires!

The Illinois Valley really showed up for the free tire recycling day Saturday May 31. Close to five large semi-size truck loads of tires were brought in to the event. The event was organized by The Motherline and the Cave Junction Farmers’ Market. One reason for the success was that they had a tire bounty for scrounging tires that were dumped on public land and then paid tire hunters $2 per tire. Organizers wanted to give a huge thanks to Oregon Caves Chevron for all of their work in making this event possible and to the Josephine County Solid Waste Agency for funding the event.
