Can We Hear Him Now?
1 Samuel 3:1-11

God is speaking to us, and He’s doing it directly. The problem is we don’t realize it’s God. That’s what Eli explained to Samuel.
Now we’ll probably never hear God call us with a voice that we can hear with our human ears, but we need to learn to recognize Him when He does call us. That means we need to start listening to His voice with our hearts and start seeking Him in the words He’s already given us.
God’s Word is alive and because it’s alive, it’s already working within us and making a difference. We just need to allow God to complete His work. Even more importantly, we can supercharge the process by being ready to accept what He has to say, and then we have to be willing to do what He’s set for us to do.
God is speaking to us. He’s speaking to our hearts if only we’re willing to listen. He’s directing us when we feel lost and alone. He’s showing us which way to go and what to do if only we pay attention. Jesus says: “My sheep hear my voice, and they know me,” but are we listening? Can we hear our Good Shepherd?
Whatever it is in your life that’s preventing you from listening and from hearing God, you need to change it. God says, “Be still and know that I am God”. He says, “I love you so much that I’m going to send My Son and He will give His life for you. And I will raise Him up on the third day so that you may have eternal life.” But when we allow ourselves to be deafened by the roar of the world, we miss those messages.
We’ve got to open our ears, eyes and hearts and listen to what God has to say because He’s speaking to us. He’s asking us if we can hear Him now.
When the storms of life are raging, God calls to us. Listen to His voice. When we’re down to our last dime God asks us, “Can you hear me now?” When the doctors have given up and said there’s nothing left for them to do God says, “I’m here. Are you listening?” When you’ve come to a crossroad in your life God is saying, “Listen to your heart. I’m there and you can hear Me. I can show you the way.”
God IS talking, and He’s talking directly to us. Are you open to what He has to say or are you ignoring Him? God is speaking to us today, but… “Can we hear Him now?”
