I am at a loss for words. Honestly, I am blown away by what is going on in Josephine County government.
Most of you know that I have always been skeptical of Simon Hare’s motives.
Sure, Hare says he isn’t political and only cares about the county; let me be clear, Hare is 100% a political guy. In a recent interview Hare said he isn’t involved with the local Republican party yet he made a sizable donation during the last campaign cycle and ran Commissioner Chris Barnett’s campaign.
Hare is extremely astute; I have a lot of respect for Hare’s mind – I really do.
In my opinion, Hare knew Barnett’s true character, considering it shows lack of positive traits.
Don’t get me wrong, I am pleased with what Hare did and the manner he is doing it still.
But why? John West too, is backing up Simon’s play, this makes me even more skeptical.
West’s vehicle can be found after hours at the courthouse so it makes one wonder, what county office is he conducting business with when they aren’t open after five.
West was involved with hiring Michael Sellers in the first place and giving him the money and power he had.
Now some of you may be saying, “Just ask Hare,” but from my experiences, I don’t think I would get the full story.
I once called him out about something that I knew was a fact and his reaction was to act surprised, and even asked me if I thought he was being naive. My reply of course was, “Simon, naive is a word I would never use to describe you.”
We haven’t spoken since.
So, that is why I can’t just call Hare to get the scoop.
Sellers and Hare once announced in public at a Grants Pass dinner that they were the “Princes of Josephine County.”
I feel Hare’s motivation is that Sellers, an old political ally, is getting a position that Hare so desperately wants.
Thank you for picking up this week’s paper! Enjoy! ~ djm
