What a week it has been. I am visiting my parents in the Little Rock, Ark. area and not watching Washington D.C. news is hard considering that they too are political junkies.
Its hard to pick what’s the most disturbing thing I have learned, but the one thing that is closest to my heart, is Trump’s refusal to follow court orders.
The one in particular is how a Trump appointed appeals court judge upheld a ruling that the Associated Press should be let back into the White House.
The reason used against the AP is that they call the Gulf of Mexico by its correct name, the Gulf of Mexico. Two judges now have ruled that the first amendment, freedom of speech is being violated. Forget about the free press, that’s a secondary offense at this point.
In this strange time where news coverage that one does not like is fake news, what is considered not fake news?
Well Chris Barnett has three social media pages now where he spews actual fake news. Stories that he makes up to tell the readers that real news coverage is fake news.
Yes, pathetic on its face, yet sad some of his MAGA followers actually beleive it.
Barnett is now nothing more than state sponsored media. “Don’t believe the news, only believe me.” \
Back in 2018 at a speech in Kansas City to the VFW annual convention, President Donald Trump said, “Stick with us. Don’t believe the crap you see from these people, the fake news. … What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening…” According to Vice President J.D. Vance, Trump once said, “Don’t believe your eyes and ears, only listen to me.”
In the book, “The art of the deal” Trump wrote this, “I play to people’s fantasies … People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular. I call it truthful hyperbole.”
Well guess what, Barnett and the rest of the cabal are doing the same thing. Josephine County Government is on Earth 2, following the 2025 game plan on the local level.
Its sad, big league, to say the least.
Thank you for picking up this week’s paper. Enjoy! ~ djm
