March 1
*At Monument Dr. and Three Pines Rd., Michael Penquite, 40, was warned for improper display, and was cited for driving while suspended which led to his vehicle being towed.
*Again, at Monument Dr. and Three Pines Rd., Sonny Hurt, 41, was warned for failure to renew and his vehicle was also towed. Reports were vague, but if these incidents were related, it makes yo wonder what kind of shenanigans were going down.
*A fix-it-ticket for uninsured driving was issued to Jeri Ibarra, 48, at the Grants Pass Parkway and NE Terry Lane.
*A young man was out for a late-night joyride when he was stopped in the 100 block of Merlin Road. Cole Woodbridge, 17, was cited for speeding and being out past curfew.
*A DUII and reckless driving charges led to a driver near New Hope and Williams Hwy. being taken to the sobering center. Twenty-seven-year-old Damion McCornack’s vehicle was towed while he slept it off.
March 2
*A driver was ticketed for expired tags and warned for no insurance at NE Agness Ave. and NE F Street.
*Somewhere up Chapman Creek Rd., Israel Hopper, 42, confronted another man in his pick-up truck. According to the caller, who was using a friend’s phone, Hopper’s girlfriend had stolen his cellphone a few days ago. The complainant’s brand-new Husqvarna chainsaw was also mentioned stolen in the report, which Hopper was seen using after the call was made. A witness saw Hopper ram his truck into the victim’s truck and attempt to flee. He couldn’t hop fast enough and was apprehended by law enforcement. Hopper was jailed on charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, menacing, criminal mischief, and theft.
*Jennifer Cochran, 53, called police from her home in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. to report that her boyfriend was throwing things and breaking windows when she got home. While he had never become violent before, he had grabbed her and shook her violently the previous night. Apparently, this is an ongoing situation. Chapman, who has a history of drug use was arrested on domestic violence and harassment charges and taken to the sobering center where her boyfriend was also taken.
March 3
*On Williams Hwy. and E. Fork Rd., a passenger of a vehicle was found to have warrants from Hawaii and Washington states on fta charges for felon in possession. David Vanwetter, 28, was tossed into the JoCo Jail.
March 4
*In what seemed to be a road rage incident in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy., an officer observed a woman passing on the right at a high rate of speed. While both drivers were acting aggressive, the deputy only witnessed the woman’s actions and she was cited for passing on the right, though the other driver was let go.
*Robert David Smith, 51 was arrested for failure to appear on theft charges also in the 100 block of S. Redwood Highway.
*A man called 911 to say that his friend who was usually peaceful was having a manic episode and refusing to take his meds. Robert Larson, 74, was arrested on domestic violence, menacing, and unlawful use of a weapon charges at the Kincaid Road residence.
*A rambunctious poodle mix named Goose was on the loose and almost knocked an elderly lady on her caboose, though it seemed he only wanted to play. In the 13000 block of Redwood Highway, Goose’s owner was given a citation for an unlicensed K9.
*A female could be heard yelling at the caller in the background during a 911 call from the 500 block of N. Old Stage Road. The woman said that “Megan” had hit her, assaulted her mother, and the door to the residence was broken off the hinges. The caller was hiding in the bedroom with her mother when authorities arrived to arrest “Megan” who had several priors.
March 5
*A driver was ticketed for speeding and failing to present an operator’s license at Merlin Rd. and Ort Lane.
*A citation was given near 300 Haines Ln. to a driver for operating an unsafe vehicle with no rear lights and DWS
*Anthony Pope, 40, was arrested on theft charges on a parole violation detainer after he was pulled over in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. for having no rear plate, and the front plate didn’t match the vehicle.
March 6
*Dustin Vanhulzen, 47, was arrested in the 3300 block of Redwood Hwy. for fta on contempt of court, assault, and strangulation charges.
*Thomas Zara, 46, was taken in on a warrant for possession of meth, a parole violation, in the 2900 block of Foothill Boulevard.
*At Shan Creek Rd. and Briggs Valley Rd. Dennis M. Haugh, 61, was taken to the local pokey on a parole violation for failure to comply on theft charges.
March 7
*A speeder was carelessly driving between the walls of the Grants Pass Parkway and appeared to be fleeing. When apprehended, Dylan Wilcox, 26, was arrested at gunpoint and thrown into the JoCo jail on duii, eluding, and reckless driving charges.
*Conner Clemons, 18, had his car towed and was cited for driving uninsured and while suspended at Highland Ave. and Merlin Road.
*At Upper River Rd. and Lathrop, Douglas Tripp, 34, was popped for speeding.
*Gary Cardan, 55, was arrested on multiple charges in the 6000 block of Thompson Creek Road. A warrant from the Leon County Sheriff’s office in Florida says Cardan failed to appear on each of the following charges; felon in possession of a firearm, fleeing, possession of ammunition, and a conservation violation. As far as fleeing goes, he got pretty far.
*Tyler Armstrong, 34, was served a warrant on charges of fta for burglary, theft, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle in the 800 block of Homewood Drive.
*In the 7600 block of Old Redwood Hwy. a Husky broke his tether and ran loose. Though the owner, Anna M. Moritz had already replaced the tether, she was given a K9 nuisance citation.
*A spaced-out woman was reported wandering around the parking lot at the Murphy Chevron station. While not aggressive, she seemed off and was reported. Upon arrival, officers found that Alexia Monet Cynor, 24, had a warrant out of Jackson Co. for fta on assault, harassment, and domestic violence charges, and was taken to the jailhouse.
*Christopher Scott, 50, was arrested on a Polk Co. felony warrant for fta on assault and strangulation charges.
*For possessing a stolen Subaru Forrester, Stephen Ewan, 43, was arrested at Williams Hwy. and Tetherow Road.
March 8
*Tyler J. Olson, 29, had his bike towed and was cited for dws and warned for operating an unsafe vehicle, failure to register, and failure to display plates at Caves Hwy and S. Redwood Highway.
*Andrew Martinez, 25, was arrested in the 200 block of S. Caves Ave. on an arson warrant.
*A business in the 33000 block of Redwood Hwy. called authorities after a man raised his fist at an elderly employee and wouldn’t leave the premises. Upon arrival, Damon Williams, 45, refused to give officers his i.d and was highly uncooperative. On the pleasant ride to jail, Williams spat, rammed and kicked the cage in the patrol car, and threatened to fight the deputies as soon as the handcuffs came off. According to officers, Williams went from being polite and apologetic to angry and wanting to fight. He was arrested and charged with menacing.
*After failing to appear on an unlawful use of a motor vehicle charge, Colton Shults, 30, was arrested in the 300 block of Old Highway 99.
*Sundi Flansburg, 55, was arrested in the 100 block of E. O’Brien St. on a warrant for theft. No bail was offered, and Flansburg was to serve the previously imposed sentence in the Josephine County Jail.
*A gold Chevy SUV was left in the middle of the intersection of Barker Dr. and Gary Ln. all night and had been completely stripped. William Spangler, 49, who was associated with the vehicle, was arrested on a felony warrant and parole violation for felon in possession of a firearm.
*In the 6400 block of Williams Hwy., David Bentley, 32, was cited for dws and warned for speeding, failure to renew, and driving uninsured.
