Jan. 21
*Two camps on BLM land near the 11000 block of Lower Graves Rd. were visited by deputies leading to the arrest of Richard Carlyle, 40, for violating his parole on a felony elude charge. The other camper was left to enjoy this beautiful, warm weather.
*In the 1400 block of E. M St. Richard Espinoza, 39, was taken in by authorities for assault and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle. “Report to follow” was all that was logged. Will there be a part two? Probably not, but stay tuned for next week’s issue of the Illinois Valley News anyway!
*Sara Rutan, 36, was cited in lieu of arrest regarding a Douglas Co. misdemeanor warrant on fail to appear for driving while suspended charges.
*A restraining order violation occurred in the 100 block of SE Grandview Ave. and swift action was taken to arrest Deborah Akey, 71. Don’t tell her heart, her Akey breaky heart. I just don’t think she’d understand. If she did, she would have stayed away after the first time.
*In the 200 block of W. Watkins, Paul Bogosian, 51, was cited in lieu of arrest stemming from a Medford PD misdemeanor warrant on charges of fail to appear /criminal mischief and possession of methamphetamines.
Jan. 23
*Joshua Foster was also cited in lieu of arrest for driving while suspended in the 8000 block of Riverbanks Road.
Jan. 24
*Two terrified girls ran into a stranger’s house for safety because a man with a gun was chasing them. The kind stranger kept the girls safe and called 911. Robert Taylor, 70, had a gun on his hip, and was running after the girls, yelling that he was going to chase them down with his car because they were too loud. In the 140 block of E. Intervale Rd. Taylor was arrested for menacing. When “get off my lawn” goes too far.
*In the 500 block of NE F St. Caden Hewitt was warned for failing to register and cited for making a dangerous left turn.
*Failure to renew registration is a popular citation this week, and Jacob Jiron was the latest recipient at Monument Dr. and California Avenue.
*A citation was given to Cody Hildebrant for driving while suspended in the 3500 block of Merl Road. He was also warned for driving uninsured, failing to signal, unlawful lane change and expired registration.

Jan. 25
*A motorist was cited for going 75 m.p.h. in a 45 zone on Redwood Hwy. at Illinois River Road.
*A concerned man called authorities because he had not seen or heard from his roommate in a week and a half, and her cell phone was not working. The missing roommate has a history of meth use, but has been clean for a couple of years. The police found Anagalene Armstrong, 52, in the 300 block of Elk Lane where she was promptly arrested for failure to appear on theft charges.
Jan. 26
*A vehicle with several prior violations was pulled over at Galice Rd. and Cherry Street. The driver was cited for driving while suspended, and a licensed driver took over the wheel.
*When getting pulled over, don’t forget to use your blinkers or hazard lights! An unlucky driver was speeding near Merlin Rd. and Ort Lane when they saw the cherries light up. They were very slow to yield, didn’t signal, and didn’t completely pull over until a second deputy showed up. The person was cited for DWS and the vehicle was towed by 3 Boys Towing.
*The driver of a gold sedan must have been in a huge hurry in the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy., as they were clocked going 100 MPH in a 55-MPH zone. They were issued a golden ticket for speeding.
*A red Jeep Wrangler driver was stopped on the Grants Pass Parkway at SE M St. for expired tags.
*At the intersection of Redwood Hwy. and E. Hanby Ln. a person was initially pulled over for failing to renew registration, but received a citation for dws, and the car, which had several priors, was towed by Jerry’s.
Jan. 28
*Another lead-foot was cited for speeding on Williams Hwy. at Hartman Lane.
*Hartman Ln. and Williams Hwy. was popular with speeding tickets today as another driver was ticketed for going 68 in a 40-MPH
*In the 4300 block of Foothill Blvd. a driver was clocked at 75 MPH in a 45 zone. If you believe in quotas or not, you still shouldn’t speed at the end of the month, or any other time, really.
*An officer pulled over a truck in the 900 block of Galice Rd. for towing a trailer with no plates. The driver was cited for DWS and the vehicle was presumably towed as the report stated “warrant tow/warrant no insurance.”
*Sequoia L. Rozzo, 25, was arrested and put in a cell at the JoCo jailhouse on two warrants for FTA on DUII charges.
*Kyle D. Thier, 41, pulled a fast one on the boys in blue when he hopped a fence and attempted to run away. Officers detained Thiel at taser point soon after his brief escape. Thiel was arrested in the 900 block of Hitching Post Rd. on charges of felony elude, escape, and reckless driving. What are you running from, man?
