Obituaries

Goldie Jean Mann, 94, of Grants Pass, died Jan. 23, 2025 at an assisted living facility. Arrangements with Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

Sarah Louise Kuhn, 54, died Jan. 14, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
Born April 29th 1970 in Colts Neck, New Jersey. She was the sixth and final child to her loving and artistic parents. Living her whole life as a rough and tumble tomboy, she was the favored baby sister of her many siblings.
She graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School in 1988. She then moved to Portland Oregon to attend Reed College. During her time in Portland she was a welder, recycler, artist, indomitable spirit and rode a 1965 Triumph T100 Tiger.
Moving to Southern Oregon in 1999, she found her way to The Magic Forest Farm to pursue life as a farmer, homesteader, teacher and explorer of the wilderness of the Siskiyou Mountains.
In 2004 she gave birth to her daughter Chela Miel. She met and became engaged to Jeffry Staab in 2008, they married in 2010, raising a family together with each their daughters Lillian and Chela. She spent these years as an organic garlic farmer running Hope Mountain Garlic, eventually giving birth to Rosemary Pearl in 2011.
She managed the Cave Junction Farmers’ Market 2015-2018, supporting locals in community sustainability. In 2018 she became a certified massage therapist, running Vitality Body Works from 2018 to present. During that time sharing her strong hands and healing touch and always became friends with all who encountered her.
Sarah enjoyed backpacking, hiking, spending time with her family and caring for her land. She loved to dance, sing funny songs, care for dogs and to make others lives better through her love and presence
The immense hole left in our hearts and our community cannot be overstated. Her kind, compassionate and loving nature was a gift to all who encountered her. She traversed the final chapter in her life with a poise, strength, faith and grace which left all who knew her in awe and reverence.
Sarah was strong in her Catholic faith and expressed at the end that she was existing in the presence of God’s love.
She is preceded in death by her parents Don & Teeny Kuhn, and grandparents.
She is survived by her husband Jeffry; daughters, Chela Miel, Lillian, and Rosemary Pearl; siblings and their families: Callie, Bert, Kate, Margaret, and Ted; her dogs Sally and Maggie; and a long list of friends and beloveds, all of whom are devastated at her passing.
