Tales from the Rural Patrol

October 19
*Dogs on the run were reported in the blocks of 1400 Brookside Blvd., 1100 Acacia Ln., and 1800 Medart Ln., and citations were issued.
*Drivers were caught speeding in the Merlin Rd. and Demeray Rd. areas and got ticketed.
*Failure to use the turn signal led to citation issued of a driver who was suspended from those privileges in the 3400 block of Robertson Bridge Road.
*Another motorist was cited for DWS on Lower River Rd.
*In the 300 block of Hamilton Ave., Dane Saavedra, 56, was arrested on charges of assault and interfering with a police report.

October 25
*James Josey, Jr. was cited to appear in court in lieu of arrest for a parole violation for unlawful use of a vehicle in the 24000 block of Redwood Highway.
*On Robertson Bridge Rd., an impaired driver was taken to the sobering center in Grants Pass. Joshua Foster, 29, faces DUII and reckless driving charges.
*A state wide felony warrant was issued resulting in the arrest of Jeffrey Michael Zink, 41, on charges of identity theft, resisting arrest, and providing false information to officers. He had a parole violation with the Douglas County Police Department for mail theft.

October 26
*Jennifer Scott, 40, was harassing a caller in the 700 block of Pleasant Valley Rd. and would not leave. Failing to appear on charges of possession of meth and possession of other controlled substances led her straight to the county jail.

October 27
*A licensed driver took over for Aaron Moran, 39, after he was cited for speeding and driving while suspended in the Peckerwood Ln. are near Redwood Highway.

October 28
*A tip about transients living under a bridge landed Allen Behrle, 29, in custody for FTA on charges of theft and criminal mischief. There was also a warrant from the Medford Police Department.
*Something happened on Wildflower Drive leading to two juveniles being removed from a residence. One was reported as a runaway. One was arrested on a criminal mischief warrant.

October 29
*Joseph Ainsworth, 46, couldn’t comply with his probation terms for arson, and was taken in to the hoosegow in the 100 block of S. Redwood Highway.
*Timothy Davis, 33, was offered no bail after being arrested for a parole violation for robbery in the 25000 block of Redwood Highway.
*Who was arrested and why is not clear, but somebody was taken in by authorities on NE F Street.
*Someone only identified as “Whelchel” was taken into custody in the 300 block of Camp Joy Rd. for having stolen license plates that were spray painted red. I’m no genius, but painting a stolen plate bright red seems like a good way to attract attention.
October 30
*Animal nuisance warnings were issued in the 1900 block of Fruitdale Dr. and the 1400 block of Brookside Boulevard.
*A driver at W. Lister St. and S. Hussey Ave. was warned for improper display of a license plate and cited for DWS.
*Sonny Hurt, 38, was taken into custody on domestic violence and assault charges in the 1900 block of NE F Street. Hopefully Sonny won’t hurt anyone else.
*Unsafe shooting was reported on Robertson Lane. Nicholas DiCarlo, 35, admitted firing at least 50 AK-47 rounds into a berm which faces numerous properties in the city limits. This is an ongoing issue, according to neighbors. DiCarlo admitted to drinking since the morning, but claimed that he was a better shot after having a few adult beverages. He went to jail.
*A man called 911 to report that he had been hit in the face and kicked by an intoxicated female who was “going crazy” in the 2900 block of Merlin Road. He had it recorded and wants to press charges. Three children were heard crying in the background. “Isabella” was taken to the sobering center for the safety of herself and others.
