Notice of Public Hearing on Application for FY24 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program
On or about October 22, 2024, the Josephine County Adult Jail will submit a grant application to the FY24 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program. If awarded the JAG funds of $11,757 will be used to provide adults in custody, who are suffering from a mental health crisis, access to an on-call psychiatric nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner will be able to conduct psychiatric assessments or evaluations. They will be able to prescribe and monitor medication. They will also provide counselor and peer to peer consults.
A public meeting of the Josephine County Board of Commissioners will be held October 30, 2024 at 9:00AM in the Anne G. Basker Auditorium, 600 NW Sixth Street, Grants Pass, OR. The purpose of the meeting is to provide public comment on the JAG application. A copy of the JAG application will be available on the Josephine County website www.josephinecounty.gov. Public comment will be taken in person, in writing, via Zoom, and phone-in. All comments will be subject to a three-minute limit per community member.
Written comments must be received by 4:00PM the day before the meeting. All written comments must include the author’s name and residence location and have “Public Comment” in the subject line of the email. Please email to bcc@josephinecounty.gov. You may also mail comments to 500 NW Sixth Street, Grants Pass, OR 97526. All written comments will be entered into the record, but not read aloud at the meeting.

The agenda for this workshop will include discussion about Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) and the concept of a possible code change allowing ADUs as an addition to single family residences on property zoned SFR.
