The obituary for Tyler Allan Pinard had the Celebration of Life for Oct. 19 at Reinhardt Park. There was a change in plans. The new Celebration of Life date will be in the spring and announced at a later date.

Ryan Douglas Mclaughlin, was born Jan. 20, 1988, the 36 year old adored all things nature and that’s what drew him to Oregon, moving to Selma last winter to be closer to family. He enjoyed exploring and making whips, chopping wood and building, and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his three beautiful children: Heidi (11), Miles (6), and Una (4), along with his Mother, Laura, and a host of other family and friends, struggling in his absence.
He died Sept. 24, 2024, around 9:50 p.m. His passing was the result of a tragic train accident in Ocean Springs, Miss., the details of which are being investigated by local police. Eye witnesses say he was strewn across the tracks, likely unconscious, and didn’t stir even with the blaring of the train’s horn. Nobody was able to reach him in time to pull him to safety.
A memorial service was held for him Sunday, Oct. 13 at a family member’s home in upstate New York. His ashes will be buried with his grandparents, and a smaller portion will be put into memorial jewelry for his children. His family plan to plant a tree in his memory, a final tribute to his free spirit and wild, nature-loving personality. If anyone wishes to donate money, please message Ryan’s sister, Amanda Adams, at 541-425-6217 for more details.
