Oct. 14
**C. J. Aglow Lighthouse guest speaker for Oct. 14th at 10:30 is Kathy Merrill. Kathy will be sharing her testimony! With a Bible study. Immanuel Day will be leading worship. Come and be blessed. Oct. 18 & 19
** Valley Girls 13th Annual Quilt Show at the IV Senior Center on October 18th & 19th. Friday 10:00 – 4:00 Saturday 10:00 – 3:00 Over 100 quilts will be on display that have never been shown. Hope to see you there!

Oct. 19
** Annual ACORN FESTIVAL Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 Kerby Belt Building 24353 Redwood Hwy, Kerby, 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. This indoor/outdoor free event includes: hands-on workshops on acorns and their processing, Yurok acorn cooking basket demonstration, Lena Hurd, historic photos of traditional acorn processing, IRVAC free Nature Crafts Table for all ages, fun and educational activities all day long, vendors and oak related displays, Scarecrow Contest with $100 prize for most popular votes, 5 p.m. potluck includes traditional dishes & innovative new recipes made with acorns. Entries in the Scarecrow Contest must be completed and signed in at the Acorn Festival by noon Oct.19. The public can vote on their favorite Scarecrows until 4 p.m.

** The Elder Tree is a weekly senior connections group for elders (60+) in the I.V. Explore new interests, and share in group conversations and activities. ONGOING
** Illinois Valley Soil & Water Conservation District will meet the fourth Thursday of the month January through October at 6 p.m. at their office- 331 E Cottage Park Drive suite 1B November and December meetings will be held the third Thursday.

** Illinois Valley Watershed Council will meet on the second Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. at the office at 331 E Cottage park Dr Suite 1B.

** Volunteers Wanted Josephine County Sheriff’s Office is seeking volunteers for the following; Staffing the Merlin and Cave Junction Substations; Patrol including providing vacation home checks, checking parks & boat ramps, locating and tagging abandoned vehicles. And providing court safety.

** Volunteers wanted for Illinois Valley Wellness Resources to assist senior and disabled residents in their home with light duty activities and /or socialization and to drive residents to doctor or grocery store. ** HIV Alliance offers services in Cave Junction every Tuesday from noon – 3 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church (across from Shop Smart). Services include: Free and confidential HIV and Hep C testing. Needle Exchange and drop box (all syringes welcome), and overdose response and Naloxone training.
