Energy agencies and service providers will discuss energy resources and services available to the Illinois Valley, as part of the Illinois Valley Community Connections Expo Oct. 12.
The Expo is a free public event providing the Illinois Valley with information and direct connections to a variety of diverse organizations serving our communities.
The Expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Lorna Byrne Middle School (101 South Junction Ave, Cave Junction, Oregon).
Presentations from the Illinois Valley Community Development Organization (also known as IVCanDO), Energy Trust of Oregon, and Pacific Power, along with information from Oregon Department of Energy, will be held in the Lorna Byrne cafeteria, starting at 11 a.m. and repeating at 12:30 p.m.
Energy Information – in the Cafeteria Room – presentations will include time for questions, and will cover:
11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. – IVCanDO and Energy Trust of Oregon will cover residential programs and energy efficiency upgrade cash incentives offered through these two organizations. IVCanDO can provide free home energy assessments, as well as elevated Energy Trust cash incentives for insulation, heat pump water heaters, windows, heating and cooling devices, and more. Energy Trust will cover other residential (and, if asked, commercial, industrial and agricultural) cash incentives currently available.
Also, information about Oregon Department of Energy’s programs, resources and incentives, including their heat pump program, as well as Federal funding expected to be available in 2026, will be provided.
11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. – Energy Trust of Oregon’ s Solar Program:
A solar plus battery storage system can provide you with clean power that saves money on your energy bill and provides a resilient backup power solution for your home or business. Energy Trust has cash incentives and can help connect you with a reliable trade ally installer. Come hear about new battery storage incentives, an upcoming solar financing program and other opportunities to enjoy the benefits of solar plus storage.

12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. – Learn how to tap into Pacific Power programs that can lower your monthly bills or provide other bill-paying support. Stop by the Pacific Power booth to discover no-cost and low-cost resources, ask questions of Pacific Power representatives and explore the wealth of offerings available to Illinois Valley residents.

Participants will be able to sign up on site for a no cost home energy assessment with IVCanDO’s energy team. The energy assessment is the first step to accessing the energy upgrades for increased energy efficiency and bill savings.
