Friday, Sept. 27 marked the ninth annual Upcycle Art and Furniture Contest along with a Trash Fashion show at the Cave Junction Farmers’ Market. Above left is CJFM Manager Alisa Ocean handing out ribbons and Southern Oregon Guild of Artists Director Caitlin Deane announcing the winners. The Trash Fashion Show winners were first place Julie and Naomi Jo from Ocean Air Farms in drip tape and baling twine, second place Elliana and Salah’s Garden Party outfit (above middle) and third place Amy Lusson with a Top of the Line Jacket. In the kids art contest, Silas Ocean won first for “Sunshine the Bee” and first place for adults went to Jason Jermain for “Rocking Cow Crossing” (above right) made from a leather purse, belts and more.
