(Editor’s note: Factual information for ‘Tales’ is provided by the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office. All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.)

Aug. 30
*Malissa Bates was warned for failure to renew her registration and driving while suspended in the 1600 block of Allen Creek Road.
*Kayanna Snyder, 31, was arrested on charges of a parole violation stemming from underlying larceny at Foothill Boulevard and Fielder Lane.

Aug. 31
*On Rogue River Highway at Maple Lane, Heather Taylor was warned for speeding but cited for driving while suspended

Sept. 1
*A frightened and out of breath woman on Jaynes Drive called 911 because a 6-foot tall 300-pound man had put all of his weight on her chest with his knee. She said she heard something crack and became severely out of breath and was gasping. The man was outside of the residence at the time of the call, but she was still scared because he had pistols and an AR-15 hidden in his truck, and had a bad temper. He then re-entered the residence, but she was able to lock herself in the bedroom. Charles Coltrane, 53, was arrested on assault, menacing, strangulation, and domestic violence charges. Next time sit on someone your own size, Bubba. If you keep up that behavior, maybe someone in jail will sit on you.
*In the 700 block of Lone Mountain Road, a caller stated that his mother was at his residence and throwing their items away. She owns the property, but he lives there. Apparently, she bought the parcel with two homes on it, one for her son, and one for her as a vacation home. The mother stated that she was tired of him making messes and wants him to stop letting his dogs and children enter her home. She didn’t want to pursue charges as there was no damage done aside from feces on the floor. The man was advised to stay on his side and keep the dogs and kids away. However, Jonathon Montes was arrested on a parole violation for being a felon in possession of a weapon on a Klamath County warrant. You have to listen to your mother and clean up your poop! Nothing like attracting attention to ensure your own arrest by calling the cops on your mom. She must be so proud.

Sept. 2
*On Redwood Highway at Allen Creek Road an officer noticed a vehicle that had eluded police only 30 minutes prior. While obtaining info, he followed the vehicle and saw the expired tags. He pulled over the driver who was cited for driving while suspended, and the vehicle was towed. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
*A woman was pulled over for speeding in the 100 S. Redwood highway area. When contacted, the driver told the deputy that she was speeding because her adult daughter who was not in the car had to go to the hospital. She was found to be driving while suspended and was not allowed to drive away from the scene, so she called someone with a license to drive the car. The same daughter she tried to use as a scapegoat was the person she called, and denied any need for an ambulance, hospital, or any other emergency. If you’re going to lie, find another person to call at least.
*A driving while suspended citation was presented to a driver on Schumacher.

Sept. 3
*Near the 200 block of W. Watkins Street a driver was warned for failure to display license plates, but cited for driving while suspended.
*On Redwood Highway at Ingalls Lane a driver was pulled over for speeding and warned about improper display of license plates.
*Kyle Waycott, 41, was arrested for failure to appear for trespass, and failure to appear for criminal mischief in the 1900 block of NE F Street.
*A Josephine County warrant for intimidation and stalking led to the arrest of Darlene Hilma Sams, 66, in the 29000 block of Redwood Highway. She subsequently was cited and released and ordered to appear at the circuit court.
*On Lower River Road Robertson Bridge Road an officer almost got into a head on collision with another vehicle. When the driver was pulled over, the officer believes he was just distracted. He was cited with failure to drive within his lane. That was a close one!
*A citation was issued to a driver on Pleasant Valley Road for obscured windows, driving while suspended, driving while uninsured, and the vehicle was towed.
*An arrest for a felony warrant was made on NE Steiger Street.

*A scruffy looking man was observed getting into people’s mailboxes, trespassing, and looking around multiple houses. Upon arrival, the subject stopped walking, but ignored commands from the officer. When detained, he had several items stuffed in his pants, Jeffrey Richards, 30, was arrested for theft of mail and disorderly conduct. Maybe he thought if he stood really still nobody could see him.
September 4
*Someone on Forest Glen Drive and Azalea Drive someone tried to open the door of a residence, then took off on foot. When the police found him, he was clearly intoxicated, barefoot, clearly out of breath, laying on the ground, and crawling. It sounds like Bruce Armour, 56, really needed a nap, and he got one at the Josephine County Jail when was arrested for criminal trespass.
*A caller said that Maria Johns, 45, threw her cellphone out of the car window causing $300 worth of damages. Johns then hit a fence, causing damage, leaving without informing the property owner. Johns was arrested in criminal mischief and hit and run with damages charges. Location unknown.
*At Foothill Boulevard and W. Jones Creek Road, a deputy observed what appeared to be a car that was about to break down. He pulled them over to offer assistance, but soon found that the driver was driving while suspended, uninsured, had incorrect plates on the vehicle, had no registration, and had a failure to appear warrant. David Curtis Williams, 45, should have stayed home, but instead was arrested on the above charges.
September 5
*A warrant for failure to appear, on charges of unlawful entry to a motor vehicle and criminal mischief. Nicholas Knowles, 44, was arrested in the 1900 block of NE F St.
*A man stated that a woman was falsely accusing him of kidnapping and abusing her. The woman had an hour-long recording of him abusing her. That was enough evidence to arrest Sean Bryant in the 1800 block of NE 7th Street. ###he was charged with ROVx2 and RTF, I couldn’t find either of those codes###
*Skler Sims was cited for speeding in the 1500 block of Laurel Road.
