*Suspicious activity was reported in the 2800 block of Foothill Blvd. A male walked away from the scene, and a female took off after seeing police pull up. She returned and gave a fake name, which didn’t work. Mirinda L. Stroup, 43, was arrested on a Douglas County warrant for identity theft, computer crimes, fraudulent use of a credit card, and multiple theft charges. Shishminda Shmoop, however, was not charged with anything.
*Jeremy White, 40, was arrested in the 1600 block of Lone Mountain Rd. when he showed up “yelling and being nasty” toward a woman at her residence. The caller went to the police substation to escape the situation, and explained that they had filed a restraining order two weeks ago. White was flagged as “known to carry knives.” and was served with a restraining order. Within 15 minutes, White was calling and texting the reporting person and her daughter, being very aggressive. White privilege?

*A motorist was cited in the 17000 block of Redwood Hwy. for going 80 mph in a 45-mph zone. Kash Mrasek, 20, will most likely have pay some cash for this ticket.
*Kevin Brissette, 40, had to call a friend to pick up his motorcycle after he was cited for driving while suspended, no insurance, and no motorcycle endorsement.
*28-year-old Kristin Gettrost was cited for having no registration and no visible license plates on Merlin Rd. I hope she doesn’t “Gett-Rost” on her way to the DMV.
Aug. 11
*A driver in a black Toyota pickup was cited for speeding on NW 6th St.
*A grey Mazda was towed after the driver was warned for speeding and expired registration, but cited for no insurance and driving while suspended on Rogue River Hwy. and Mountain View Place.

*A woman reported that she was assaulted by a 24-year-old male on Demaray Drive. The male was known to be hostile toward law enforcement, though he did meet with the police to accept the harassment citation, and was warned for telephonic harassment. If only we could report telemarketers for this.
*A man and a woman were seen taking items removed from a residence to a garage in the 4200 block of Leonard Rd. The residence was supposed to be empty, according to the caller. The deputies caught up with the suspects in an un-plated silver Suburban. They admitted to entering the residence and the garage, but denied taking anything. They gave consent to a vehicular search, but nothing reported stolen was found. They were both cited and released on criminal trespass charges.
*On Redwood Hwy. at Helms Rd., a driver was warned for speeding and cited for driving while suspended. Their parole officer was waiting for the required check-in from the driver, and they arranged to have their bike picked up.
*Justin Gray, 45, turned himself in at the Grants Pass jail lobby on original charges of manufacturing methamphetamines near a school. He was arrested and escorted to the less fun part of the jailhouse.

*On Elk Lane, Jerry Lee Ekholm II was arrested in a tent for outstanding charges stemming from a Josephine Couty felony warrant. I’m pretty bad at camping, but…
*Daniel Keith Peck, 37, was found on Merlin Landfill Rd. and booked on felony warrant charges. Talk about down in the dumps.
*In the 1900 block of NE F St., Nicholas Knowles, 44, was taken into custody for failing to appear on a Grants Pass Police Department warrant.
*Eli Frederick White, 33, had multiple felony warrants from the Medford Police Department, including theft, forgery, and identity theft. He, a female, and a child were found in the 7500 block of Monument Drive. The female was released, White was arrested, and DHS took custody of the child.
*Another man had children with him when he was arrested in the 500 block of Griffin Rd., but was able to leave his two daughters with a friend before being hauled off to the pokey on a JoCo Sheriff secret indictment warrant for burglary and theft.

*On Redwood Hwy. at Pansy Ln., Miguel Espinoza, 41, was cited for following too close and making a dangerous right turn.
*A woman on W. River St. called authorities because her neighbor’s dog had pulled her dog through the fence, causing significant injuries. The attacking canine was inside of his elderly owner’s residence when the law showed up. Neighbors witnessed the attack and claim that this is a previous nuisance animal. When contacted, Cheryll Lynn Adkins, 89, said that “Sausage” is a good boy, and not aggressive, though he is too much for her to handle, and would like to rehome him.
*A person who was doing some housecleaning for a homeowner saw a man carrying something that looked heavy, “like a chainsaw case” away from the residence on Merlin Road. Jeremy McFarland, 47, was arrested on a previous warrant for parole violation for burglary and criminal mischief, though it doesn’t appear that McFarland was involved in this burglary. Isn’t it ironic, though?
