On Aug. 13, 2024, the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team with the assistance of Josephine County Public Health & Building Safety, executed a search warrant in the 800 Block of Greenview Drive, Cave Junction, regarding an illegal marijuana grow site. JMET had already served a warrant at this address less than four weeks ago for the same offenses. After the first search warrant was served, detectives continued their investigation and found the suspects involved attempted to continue illegally cultivating marijuana, leading to a secondary warrant.
During the execution of the warrant, 180 marijuana plants were seized and destroyed. Additionally, one firearm was seized on scene.
The property also had multiple electrical, water, and solid waste code violations. These violations could result in the criminal forfeiture of the properties.
The primary suspect was not on scene at the time of the warrant. They are known to law enforcement, and charges of unlawful manufacturing of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful appropriation of water are being forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office. At the time of this press release the investigation is ongoing and no further details are being released.
