Spring is just around the corner and so is our local authors’ event, A Book Faire to Remember, Friday, April 19th, from 5-8 p.m., at the Grants Pass Museum of Art, 229 SW G St. Our authors represent a wide variety of genres: fiction, non-fiction, mystery, crime, western, romance, nature, self-help, health, spirituality, wildlife, children’s books, and poetry. Enjoy this opportunity to purchase signed copies of their books. We look forward to seeing you!

** Rough & Ready Wildflower Hike is Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10 a.m.
Meet at the parking area at Rough & Ready Botanical Wayside south of Cave Junction on Hwy 199 at mile marker 34
The walk through the Rough and Ready Wayside is geared for plant enthusiasts and novices alike. This is a great opportunity for folks to come out and enjoy the spring wildflowers no matter what your skill level on plant identification might be.
This is a short hike on rocky, but relatively level ground, with lots of beautiful wildflowers to see, many of them are rare or of limited range.
A portion of the hike will be along a wheel-chair accessible path so folks of limited mobility can come out and enjoy the wildflowers too.
Be Prepared Bring water, dress in layers and wear comfortable shoes. Bring lunch if you like, there’s a picnic table overlooking Rough & Ready Creek.

**Open Acoustic Jam night Monday, April 22 from 6-8 pm at Wild River Pizza Cave Junction back room. Bluegrass, country, folk, western and blues musicians invited!
April 23
** The Illinois Valley Community Choir invites you to an evening of choral music at their Spring Concert, Tuesday, April 23 from 7-8 p.m. at the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Cave Junction. This one-time public performance features songs ranging from Gregorian chants to Irish laments to John Denver, with a whole lot of variety in between. The choir is directed by Kate Campbell, who will be joined by professional instrumentalists from our community, including B. Wishes! Audience participation is encouraged. Families & children of all ages are welcome! A reception will follow the performance with food and light refreshments available. Admission is FREE, though donations will gladly be accepted at the door to cover costs of the rehearsal and performance space. The church is located at 200 W. Watkins St. across from Shop Smart.

**3rd Annual Spring Art Show & Sale
Saturday, April 27 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Healthy U, 535 E. River St., Cave Junction. Art with Ariana presents student work created at LBMS this year. This free event features live music and a bake sale to help fund “Learning Through Arts” (LTA), a free program sponsored by Illinois River Valley Arts Council in I.V. public schools. The public is also invited to come learn about Healthy U’s new program: “All Around Kids Community Preschool.” Call 541-592-4444 for more information.

**Illinois Valley Amateur Radio Club (IVARC) will be having our monthly meeting @ 6pm at Wild River Pizza in CJ. Come get free two-way radio training, pick up a pre-programmed radio or get free updates on your existing Baofeng radio. We have (3) weekly net check-ins on Mondays @ 7pm, starting on IVARC’S GMRS repeater, followed by unlicensed Simplex FRS 3 and MURS 3. New members are welcome and encouraged to join our net and attend our meetings. **Volunteers Wanted Josephine County Sheriff’s Office is seeking volunteers for the following; Staffing the Merlin and Cave Junction Substations; Patrol including providing vacation home checks, checking parks & boat ramps, locating and tagging abandoned vehicles. And providing court safety.

** Volunteers wanted for Illinois Valley Wellness Resources to assist senior and disabled residents in their home with light duty activities and /or socialization and to drive residents to doctor or grocery store. ** HIV Alliance offers services in Cave Junction every Tuesday from noon – 3 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church (across from Shop Smart).
