Rudolph “Rudy” Milton Trevino
Rudy Trevino was born March 19, 1948 and died peacefully at his home on March 23, 2024, with his sons by his side.
Rudy served three tours of duty in Vietnam from April 1, 1966 to March 17, 1969. He started his three tours with the Army 2D Battalion, 51st Infantry. He specialized in telecommunications and served as a Wire Lineman E3 during the Vietnam War. After his discharge from the U.S. Army, Rudy worked as a telecommunications engineer in Saudi Arabia and Puerto Rico before heading to the Pacific Northwest and making Cave Junction his home in the early ‘80s.
He was an avid guitarist, songwriter and musician who played in numerous bands throughout his lifetime. Rudy was also a self-proclaimed pyrotechnics mastermind and loved sharing his passion for music and fireworks by throwing huge parties. While he played music with his friends, other party guests would light the sky on fire with his home-crafted fireworks. Rudy was a generously giving, devoted and inspirational man to so many he loved in the Illinois Valley.
A small, private gathering was held at a local cemetery on April 1, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at Rudy’s property at a future date for all his friends and loved ones. In honor of his favorite pastimes, there will be good music, great friends and a whole lot of fireworks.
