*Publisher’s Note: For decades, Illinois Valley News has published our unique version of the log entries from Josephine County Sheriff’s Office. Tales from the Rural Patrol kept the community informed and doled out public floggings via satire. Technology has changed the process. *Two drivers were ticketed in a 20 mile-per-hour (MPH) zone near Lakeshore Drive. At 7:46 p.m. the operator of a Ford pickup truck was cited for driving 37 MPH and driving while suspended violation (DWS-V). At 8:24 p.m. a motorist in a white car had no operator’s license and was going 43 MPH. A man was cited for no operator’s license and failure to obey a traffic control device at 10 p.m. near S. Redwood Hwy. and W. Watkins Street.

Thursday, Nov. 30
*Daren Alan McCollum was driving an unplated maroon Ford F150 pickup truck near Redwood Hwy. and Draper Valley Road at 11:42 p.m. when he was apprehended by Josephine County Sheriff’s Office. McCollum had a misdemeanor cite and release warrant from Albany Police Department. McCollum was cited to appear at Albany Municipal Court Dec. 21 for contempt of court. He was also cited for DWS-V, driving uninsured, and failure to register vehicle. The truck was towed.
