*Publisher’s Note: For decades, Illinois Valley News has published our unique version of the log entries from Josephine County Sheriff’s Office. Tales from the Rural Patrol kept the community informed and doled out public floggings via satire. Technology has changed the process. *A man traveled from San Diego to stay with his sister near the 100 block of N. Caves Avenue. At 6:20 a.m. she requested that he be taken to a hospital for evaluation because he became violent when stressed. At 7:40 a.m. Joseph Stephen Christopher was detained at Josephine County Jail for domestic violence strangulation, fourth-degree assault, and second-degree animal abuse.
