**Illinois Valley Amateur Radio Club (IVARC) will be hosting a Meet-n-Greet on October 7th from 11am to 3pm at Jubilee Park in Cave Junction. Whether you are a current radio operator or an aspiring radio operator to be, come meet other operators and check out our radio display and demonstrations. **Illinois Valley Amateur Radio Club (IVARC) will be having our monthly meeting @ 6 p.m. at Wild River Pizza in CJ. Come to our meeting to learn about IVARC and get free two-way radio training and assistance. Pre-programmed radios with 86 local fire, police, and other frequencies are available or get free updates on your existing Baofeng radio programming. Every Monday at 7 p.m. we have a weekly net check-in starting on IVARC’S GMRS repeater, followed by Simplex FRS 3 and MURS 3, allowing unlicensed operators an opportunity to participate. New members are welcome and encouraged to join our net and attend our meetings. ** The Illinois Valley Historic Laurel Cemetery next board meeting will be Sunday October the 8th, 2023 at 1pm in the cemetery chapel. It has been a few months it will be good to see everyone.

**Wine in the Vines at Brideview Vineyards for the I.V. HOPE Village fundraiser. Wine Tasting with small bites, live music and silent and live auctions, Friday, Sept. 8 at 5 – 8 p.m., more details coming.

**Acorn Festival is going to be Oct. 14 at the Kerby Belt Building 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dinner at 5 .pm. Scarecrow Contest with $100 prize for the most votes. Should be life-sized” for outdoor viewing. And be set up and signed in at the Acorn Festival by 11am. Public will vote for their favorite scarecrow.
