JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. — Josephine County leaders are planning a forum to discuss fire protection in the county.
The Board of Josephine County Commissioners will host a town hall meeting 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at North Valley High School to discuss the concept of a fire district for the unprotected areas of Josephine County. Commissioners will solicit feedback from residents and facilitate conversations on the topic.
A fire district would cover the unprotected areas of Josephine County outside the city of Grants Pass and other fire district boundaries and provide taxpayer-funded fire protection services to residents of the district.
