Tales from the Rural Patrol

(Editor’s note: Factual information for ‘Tales’ is provided by the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office. All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.)

*Publisher’s Note: For decades, Illinois Valley News has published our unique version of the log entries from Josephine County Sheriff’s Office. Log entries with the new JCSO reporting system are now limited to citations and arrests.
The I.V. News has spoken to Sheriff Daniel and he is working to get the information we have become accustomed to. Stay tuned! ~djm

*A driver ruined the perfect record for the week when he was cited for driving while suspended near Redwood Hwy. and Finch Road at 2:52 p.m. The motorist was aware that he had no insurance or registration, and he explained that he just got the vehicle running and was trying to get it home.

*A gray Subaru Forester and blue Honda sedan collided near the 200 block of W. Watkins Street at 1:09 p.m. The driver at fault had a juvenile felony warrant from Malheur County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree robbery, so he was cited to appear July 21 at Malhuer Circuit Court.
