Airport Day on hold for 2023, staff hopeful for a return of event in 2024

JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. — The popular Airport Day event held annually at the Grants Pass Airport will not take place this year.
“It really is unfortunate that we won’t be able to hold Airport Day this year,” said Steve Dobbs, newly named Airports Department director. “I’m hopeful that taking this year off will give us time to collaborate with the airport community to plan and create a truly memorable and safe Airport Day next year.”
Airport Day is an annual free festival held at Grants Pass Airport, 1441 Brookside Blvd. in Grants Pass. In the past, the day featured aircraft tours, food, fun and more.
Due to staffing changes and other factors, Airports Department staff decided it wouldn’t be feasible to host the event this year.
Dobbs asks that community members interested in joining the planning process for Airport Day 2024 to contact the department by visiting JosephineCounty.gov/Airports.
