Grants Pass resident requests we pass on county revenue
The population of Josephine county is in the range of 88,000. There are over 36,000 separate households. The Illinois Valley News has a weekly circulation of 1,350 as opposed to 46,000 by the Grants Pass Daily Courier.
As a legitimate and honorable newspaper in this county, I presume the Illinois Valley News is in favor of a free press and against censorship and political corruption.
I humbly request that you do not support the county commissioners vindictive attempt to control or influence free expression by removing the county’s public notices from the Courier.
You can stop this charade by simply refusing to play the game. I hope your Board of Directors will see the wisdom in refusing to be the primary repository of county legal notices.
Thank you for your consideration.
