Tales from the Rural Patrol

Sunday, Sept. 4
*Dumpster divers tore into trash cans behind Shop Smart and Grocery Outlet at 4:13 a.m.

Monday, Sept. 5
*Between 4-5 p.m. on Sept. 4, a gal walking near Sucker Creek-Illinois Valley Trailhead was frightened by a miner that shot at her and threatened to do so again. Multiple resource violations were observed at Cedar Gulch Group Mining Claim. An individual was cited to appear on federal charges of contaminating a waterway and operating an internal combustion engine in fire restrictions. A charge of menacing was referred to Josephine County District Attorney.

Tuesday, Sept. 6
*At 1:07 a.m. a guy was worried because his friend never returned from an evening at Bruno’s Cavern. She was wearing a crop top, shorts, and cowboy hat, and drove a black Honda Element with Oklahoma plates. He was lacking other helpful information, like her address or even her name.

Wednesday, Sept. 7
*Trouble was brewing in Jubilee Park in the early morning hours. A woman was transported for medical attention at 2:06 a.m. Several youngsters with knives in their hands walked toward a few agitated homeless individuals, but everyone left by 2:28 a.m.
*An injured deer was dispatched near the 2000 block of Davis Creek Road at 2:08 p.m. The animal had claw marks, so it apparently was attacked by a mountain lion, then fell down a ravine.
*Floyd Argus Greenlee, Sr. had a misdemeanor warrant from Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) for failure to appear (FTA) for second-degree theft. Greenlee had a felony amount of meth in his coat pocket when he was arrested near S. Redwood Hwy. and E. Watkins Street at 2:53 p.m. Greenlee was cited and released to appear in Josephine County Circuit Court (JCCC) Oct. 4 for the warrant and new charges of felony possession of controlled substance (PCS) meth.
*At midnight on Sept. 4, a silver-colored 2007 Cadillac CTS vanished from the 5100 block of Caves Hwy.

Thursday, Sept. 8
*Counterfeit money was deposited through the ATM at First Community Credit Union between Sept. 1 and 6.
*Daren Alan McCollum was contacted at 10:50 a.m. in the 100 block of S. Hussey Avenue for a contempt of court charge from Albany Police Department. McCollum was cited and released to appear at Albany Municipal Court Oct. 3.
*Surveillance video will be reviewed to find out who took a cell phone from the 300 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 12:30 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 9
*The rims were changed, and it had different plates, but the owner of a silver-colored 2007 Cadillac CTS recovered her vehicle from the 300 block of Schumacher Street.
*A white 2022 Synergy enclosed trailer was last seen at 10 a.m. Sept. 8 behind a fence in the 600 block of Daisy Hill Road. There’s a man door on the right side, and a sticker on the back door reads ‘Not for hire.’ (The man or the trailer?)

Saturday, Sept. 10
*A fellow with a machete was screaming and yelling in the 400 block of O’Brien Road at 12:12 a.m. Mark Elliot Dildine was taken into custody at 1:02 a.m. and detained in Josephine County Jail (JCJ) for menacing and unlawful use of a weapon.
*On Sept. 9, a scoundrel threw a skateboard and broke a window at Shop Smart.
*Hooligans have been vandalizing Jubilee Park for several nights. The juvilantes (juvenile + vigilante) assaulted homeless individuals with projectiles, possibly with airsoft guns.
