Driver of July 16 fatality released

On July 16, 2022 at approximately 12:55 p.m. a deputy from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a motor vehicle near the 5500 block of Rockydale Road in Cave Junction.  The vehicle sped up attempting to elude law enforcement.  The vehicle began driving recklessly and the deputy terminated the pursuit in the interest of public safety.
